Opel / Vauxhall / Saab VDA Lead

Drive and Talk Interface leads are used on car radios with a line in function. When you receive a phone call the line in function will mute the radio and your will hear the communication in the car front speakers.

Suitable for:

Vauxhall Astra
Vauxhall Vectra
Vauxhall Zafira





This VDA cable can not be used with CAR300 radios. They must use a standard ISO Mute. The 6 way Molex plug and speaker connections supplied are designed to fit a Nokia Hands Free kit. If you are fitting this lead to a Non-Nokia kit, then you may require an additional adaptor.

Connect the VDA cable to the loom normally located behind the N/S kick panel or glove box.

Vectra:

The relay must be mounted in the orange socket behind the glove compartment


Astra / Zafira:

The relay must be mounted in the white frame in the fusebox. Also please observe if a fuse has already been inserted into position No.19. After the installation you must put the phone volume at its middle position and then you may adjust the conversation sound level according to the description in the radio manual


Suitable for:

Saab 9-3 2000 > (Not without VDA)
Saab 9-5 2000 > (Not without VDA)


Please note that the 6 way Molex plug and speaker connections supplied are designed to fit a Nokia Hands Free kit. If you are fitting this lead to a Non-Nokia kit, then you may require an additional adaptor.



Saab 9-3 Model:

1) Remove the glove box and console side panel.
2) Cut off the cable tie securing the Black 18 pin connector.
3) Connect the Autoleads adaptor and secure with another cable tie.
4) The 6 way Molex plug and speaker connector plugs into the Nokia Hands Free kit.


Saab 9-5 Model >2003:

1) Remove the head unit as per manufacturers instructions.
2) Remove the Aircon or heater panel.
3) The 18 way plug can be found on the fan cowling wrapped in anti-rattle tape along with the antenna connection.
4) Connect the Autoleads adaptor and wrap with the anti-rattle tape.
5) The 6 way Molex plug and speaker connector plugs into the Nokia Hands Free kit.


Saab 9-5 Model 2003>:

1) Remove the head unit as per manufacturers instructions.
2) Remove the Aircon or heater panel.
3) The 18 way plug can be found behind the air conditioning panel tucked to the lower left side, the antenna can be found to the lower right.
4) Connect the Autoleads adaptor and wrap with the anti-rattle tape.
5) The 6 way Molex plug and speaker connector plugs into the Nokia Hands Free kit.


The relay is not required for Saab.
