Fixed Price Repair Service
For Damaged Ribbon or FPC Failure
Kenwood MASK models.
Repair Service: Display Failure.

One of the most common faults with the Kenwood MASK models is for the Fascia Ribbon cable (called an FPC) to fail or even split, causing one of a number of faults as described below.

If the display does not light up, the buttons do not function correctly or if the stereo appears as if it is totally dead, then the cause is probably down to a failure of the FPC which will need to be replaced.

As a quick diagnostic check, press the reset button or remove the power plug for a few seconds, refit it again, and see if any motors start whirring away in the background, or if the fascia rotates. If they do, then chances are the FPC is indeed faulty, and if the unit remains quiet and dead, then something a little more serious may be at fault.

If the above test does fail, have a quick visual check at the lower edge of the fascia. You should just about see a Orange or Gold coloured plastic ribbon cable. This is the FPC. If it is split in the corners or torn all of the way across, then this confirms that is has failed.

This fixed price repair is for the FPC Replacement only, and if any other faults are found, or the unit has been tampered with, then we reserve the right to provide an estimate for any additional work that may be required.
