There appears to be a common fault with this generation of Chrysler Radios made by Alpine as shown here, where the display fails to switch on correctly.




To diagnose this common fault, the symptoms are that the Phosphorescent Display does not turn on and remains completely dark whilst the rest of the unit continues to function as normal. You should still be able to hear sound from the radio and the CD will still play correctly - You just cannot see what the display is telling you.

We also see this fault where people are retro fitting these models and think that the radio is completely dead which is often not the case. Mostly, when power is connected it will be asking for a code number to be entered in order to function, its just that you cannot see this Code request on the screen and the unit will remain lifeless.

This fixed price repair is to restore the Phosphorescent Display fault as described only, and if any other faults are found, or the unit has been tampered with, then we reserve the right to provide an estimate for any additional work that may be required.
