Blaupunkt Radio / Cassette as fitted to a wide range of Nissan Vehicles including the Micra.

This stereo is specifically coded to the engine management system of the vehicle it came out of using very sophisticated technology. When it is first powered up, it will communicate with the engine management, and a message of "WAIT" or "SECURITY" will appear whilst this process is in operation. If communication has been successfull, it may prompt for a code to be entered. However, if plugged into another vehicle other than the original one, it will not recognise the engine management and will not allow a code to be entered. Instead it will lock up and display an error message of "SECURE". This does mean though, that this model cannot be simply transferred from one vehicle to another without some serious reprogramming.

Nissan dealers may tell you that this stereo cannot be reprogrammed to go into another vehicle, but then thats what they said about other models, before we managed to reset the security system !! If you send us this unit we will reset the SECURE function and reprogram the code circuit allowing it to be used in any Nissan.

This radio is bolted in place by four bolts, and these will be hidden beneath the dashboard trim. Removal of the trim will depend largely on the vehicle it is fitted to, but should not present any real problems. Please contact us for details if you are unsure how to go about this. Once the four bolts that secure the radio frame have been removed, the stereo will come out in a rather large lump and can then be unplugged.
