Blaupunkt CD / Tuner as fitted to the Fiat Panda

This stereo is specifically coded to the engine immobiliser system of the vehicle it came out of using the very sophisticated CAN-BUS system technology. When it is first powered up, it will communicate with the engine immobiliser, and a message of "WAIT" will appear whilst this process is in operation. If communication has been successfull, it may prompt for the code to be entered. However, if plugged into another vehicle other than the original one, it will not recognise the engine immobiliser and may not allow a code to be entered and simply come up with an error message of "CANCHECK". This does mean though, that it cannot be easily transferred from one vehicle to another without some serious programming.

Fiat dealers will tell you that this stereo cannot be reprogrammed to go into another vehicle, but then thats what they said about other models, before we managed to disable and turn off the CANCHECK system !! If you send us this unit we will turn off the CANCHECK function and disable the code circuit allowing it to be used in any Fiat Idea or Panda, irrespective of whether the car has CANBUS technology or not.

To remove the Radio, simply insert the removal tools into the four holes at either side of the fascia, push in until a click is felt, and then withdraw the radio. The leads can then be unplugged.
